Mayor Harter: Improvements Should Reduce Speeding

Local News News & Updates

Hello Florida,

One of the biggest issues that I have heard from you the residents since I have been in office is speeding. Don’t think that your concerns have been ignored. In fact, we have two new items that will hopefully help to alleviate this issue.  The first is the installation of stop signs at Werner, Glenmere and Roe St. There will be a three-way stop which is proven to slow traffic. The second, is the purchase of two illuminated speed signs. These signs have the capability to be moved, are solar and battery operated and store data. The data stored will in turn tell us what time the most traffic is flowing and speeding helping our Police Department greatly.  Thank you for all of your concerns and hopefully what we came up with for solutions will make a difference.

The above column, written by Village of Florida Mayor Daniel Harter, Jr., has been published in the Feb. 19 issue of the Warwick Valley Dispatch.
