Editor,
Town of Warwick with its development of former prison grounds, and Village of Florida with its recent makeover, are both wonderful examples of a thriving and supportive community that allows for creativity and innovation to stimulate revenues, commerce, and prosperity. Although close neighbors to us, they seem to be light years ahead of our Village, where many businesses, builders and investors find themselves stifled by the rigid and antiquated restrictions placed on them by the local governing body.
Our community will greatly benefit if allowed for innovation that does not get trampled by the bureaucracy, which seems to be the main focus of our government officials today. The only way for Warwick to continue to prosper and withstand any economic challenges that may come about, is through the union of progression, creativity, and historic remembrance.
Many local and small businesses find themselves scrutinized for the efforts to bring about revenue-generating developments that could help us compete with the increasing growth of neighboring towns, while easing up taxpayer’s burden. Without continuing progress within our community, I’m afraid we will soon enough sink into a stagnant and declining economic state.
These growing concerns are what spurred my candidacy and intention to run. My goal is to strengthen and amplify the local commerce and, with that, bring about more tax revenue, local services, increased number of jobs and opportunities for the local people. We stand for and support diversity, transparency, and accountability of local government.
I officially announce my candidacy to run for Village of Warwick Trustee. Also, I’d like to endorse Mark O’Mahoney as a candidate for Trustee and support his values and platform. I am seeking your endorsement and signature on the Village Independent Nominating Petition, before Feb. 11 deadline. To participate in helping us improve and further our cause, signature sheets are available at local businesses: Daisy’s Nails, Warwick Pools, Yesterdays restaurant, Beverages Plus, Queen’s Village Cleaners, Tokyo Plumhouse, Mr. Bill’s Auto Repair, Ledo Cleaners, Studio Esthetique, Sam’s Meat Warehouse, Orange County Sport Club, Anytime Fitness, Galloway Grill, Beyond Barre, & Napa G&T Auto Parts.
