The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) reports that for the week ending on Mon., Jan. 20, the WFD has responded to 16 calls for service to date.
On Mon., Jan. 13, the WFD companies completed in house apparatus and building checks and the Goodwill Hook and Ladder Company #1 held an operational drill, assisted by Raymond Hose Company #2, with the department’s 3,500 gallon tanker.
On Tues., Jan. 14, the WFD held their monthly regularly scheduled work session at Warwick Engine Company #3 and on Wed., Jan. 15, the WFD Historical Committee held its monthly meeting at Warwick Station #1.
On Sat., Jan. 18, WFD Chiefs attended the Pine Island Fire Departments Annual Dinner at the Jolly Onion Inn. Congratulations to the Pine Island Fire Department on another year of proud service to the community and residents. Thank you to Past Chief Pete Vutianitis for his commitment and service to the P.I. FD from 2016 to 2019 and to the neighboring departments. The WFD congratulates Chief Ryan Blaikner and the P.I. FD. The WFD wishes them a happy and safe 2020.
On Sun., Jan. 19, the Chiefs and Officers held an Officers Brunch/Meeting at the Emerald Point Restaurant in Greenwood Lake. Thank you to Erin and the staff for the great meal.
Warwick Fire Prevention Report
The Warwick Fire Prevention team asks that residents please remember to change the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Also remember to have homes checked, including boilers, water heaters and chimneys. Remember to always be Warwick Fire Safe! Bowling Fundraiser
WFD hosted a Bowling with the Bravest fundraiser on Sat., Jan. 25. Doors opened at 4 p.m. and bowling began at 5 p.m. The cost was $35 per person.
