This week I had the pleasure of attending the opening and dedication of the new 3D mammography machine at St. Anthony’s Hospital Women’s Imaging Center located at 55 Ronald Reagan Blvd. Utilizing advanced breast tomosynthesis technology, 3D exams are clinically proven to significantly increase detection of breast cancers, while simultaneously decreasing the number of women asked to return for additional testing. Proven benefits include a 41% increase in detection of invasive breast cancers, 40% decrease in women being called back for additional imaging and 45% reduction in radiation dose as compared to 2D mammography. We are so lucky to have this state of the art service here in Warwick, and we are very grateful to St. Anthony’s Hospital for their continued commitment to provide the best health care for our community.
Congratulations to Jennifer Crover, Supervisor of Transportation, and the entire staff of the Warwick Transit Center. The department recently underwent a complete operational review by the Public Transportation Safety Board of the NYS DOT, and their review was outstanding! All facets were examined including record keeping, maintenance of the buses, drug testing policies, accident registry and individual bus logs. Two different bus drivers, Justin Tuck and Peter Verutes, were observed for pre-trip procedures and were rated exceptional! Good care and cleanliness of all the buses were noted, as was the good work of DPW mechanic, Damian Romanoski. Kudos to all!
