The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) reports that for the week ending Mon., Dec. 2, the WFD has responded to 405 calls for service to date.
On Mon., Nov. 25, the WFD officers and members completed truck checks of WFD apparatus and buildings and grounds, and Engine Company #3 held an Engine Company Operations Drill.
On Tues., Nov. 26, the WFD held its monthly scheduled fire officers and Department monthly meeting at Warwick Station #1.
On the evening of Fri., Nov. 29 at 6 p.m., the WFD hosted its annual Christmas tree lighting at the Old School Baptist Church between Church Street and High Street with the generosity of the Warwick Historical Society. The WFD would like to wish the community a very safe Happy Holiday Season.
On Sun., Dec. 1, the WFD participated in the Annual Toy Train Toy For Tots at Kuiken Brothers.
Join the Warwick EMS
The Warwick EMS Ambulance Service members located on South St. Ext. need members to join their ranks. Individuals 18 years of age or older are eligible. For more information contact the Warwick EMS at 986-4047, www.warwickems.com, stop at the bay on the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or attend their meeting on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. The WFD would like to thank the Warwick Volunteer Ambulance Service, who has responded to over 1,400 calls this year so far; the Warwick Police, who fields thousands of calls keeping us all safe; and the Warwick Town and Village DPW crews for keeping our roadways clear. All agencies work together keeping us Warwick Safe.

The Warwick Fire Prevention team reminds residents to change the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Also remember to have homes and vehicles serviced for the winter by a qualified reputable business. Please check boilers, water heaters and chimneys. Visit www.fpw.org or www.sparkyschoolhouse.org for educational resources to make sure that every person knows what to do in case of a fire.
