On Thurs., Nov. 21, the Town of Warwick Police Department concluded a four-month investigation into the sale of narcotics in Pine Island.
Officers from Warwick Police Department and the Tactical Response Unit (TRU) executed a search warrant at 312 Glenwood Rd. in Pine Island. Warwick Police arrested Zachary L. Yuen, 20. Warwick Police seized over six grams of cocaine, half of a pound of marijuana, and $1,857 in US currency.
Yuen has been charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (Class B felony), criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree (Class B felony) and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree (Class C felony).
Yuen was arraigned by Warwick Town Justice Peter Barlet and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $2,000 cash bail.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation that a defendant has committed a violation of the criminal law, and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the State of New York’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
