On Fri., Dec. 6, St. Anthony Community Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) located at 15 Maple Ave., in Warwick, held a special Christmas tree lighting ceremony with hospital administration, department leaders, local officials and members of the community.
Local business owner John Christison and his wife, Peggy, of Yesterdays restaurant in Warwick, surprised the crowd dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus. They made a grand entrance escorted by a Warwick Police Department car with lights and sirens blazing. Each child received a Christmas gift bag and a chance to meet, greet and take photos and with the famous duo.
Members of the talented Warwick Valley High School Meister Singers, kept the crowd entertained, singing popular Christmas carols and songs. Complimentary appetizers, desserts and refreshments were offered inside of the hospital lobby.
The Christmas tree and Menorah that adorn the main entrance of the hospital were blessed before Charity Health Engagement Officer, Penny Mann, began the countdown to the tree lighting.
The Menorah lighting will be held at St Anthony Community Hospital on Mon., Dec. 16.
