NYS Senator Jen Metzger recently sponsored a free resource fair for active duty service members, veterans, and their families at the American Legion Post 214 in Warwick. Metzger partnered with state and local organizations to make resources available and provide assistance to veterans and their families in areas including health care, housing, legal services, and more.
The fair was open to active duty service members, veterans of any branch of the U.S. military, and their families. Partners included Legal Services of the Hudson Valley, Joseph P. Dwyer, Vet2Vet, Middletown VA Clinic, the Comptroller’s Office of Unclaimed Funds, and Orange County Veterans Affairs. Attendees also had an opportunity to pay their respects at the New York Warrior Promise Wall, a traveling memorial, honoring the servicemen and women who have fallen to suicide.
Senator Metzger will sponsor two veterans resource fairs on Wed., Dec. 18. The first fair will take place in Sullivan County from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello. The second fair will take place in Orange County from 2 to 4 p.m. at HONOR in Middletown.
