On Sat., Nov. 16, the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 80th Anniversary with a Gala Reception. It is a significant milestone and reason to honor such an important organization. The evening included honoring 19 businesses in seven categories: Creative Repurposing, Renovation, Community Revitalization, Entrepreneur of the Year, Commitment to Community, MVP, and Volunteer of the Year Award. Congratulations to all recipients for well-deserved honors. We are lucky to have such a strong Chamber of Commerce. The support and visibility it gives our business community is vital for their success but also our success as a Village and Town. The positive relationships between our civic, municipal, non-profit, and spiritual organizations are a reason why Warwick thrives.
The Chamber has many initiatives including networking events, large public events such as Applefest, the Warwick Valley Visitor’s Guide, the Warwick Valley Farmers’ Market, the Warwick Merchant’s Guild and Tourism. It is the sum of all these activities that makes the Chamber such a vital piece of Warwick life. Congratulations to Michael Johndrow, his staff and the Warwick Valley Chamber Board for all they do and contribute. Over the years our successes have been many and are a direct result of a strong and engaged Chamber of Commerce.
Come Home for the Holidays!
Sun., Nov. 24, is the Warwick Merchant Guilds kickoff of the Holiday Season! Our local businesses have decked the halls for the season. This is a moment to celebrate, shop local and enjoy the beginning of a wonderful time of the year. Come Home for the Holidays is a seasonal event that begins with an old-fashioned open house and continues through the entire month of December with local events including free horse and buggy rides, tree lightings and Menorah lighting along the way. Please look at our local newspapers and websites for more information. Also, watch for the annual Angel Tree on Main Street which will appear shortly. The season begins!
