Horse & Buggy Rides Return in November

      Home for the Holidays, an annual Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce event featuring the popular horse and buggy rides through the Village business district, returns on Sun., Nov. 24.

      The buggy rides will be offered by Sean Geary of Dun Dreaming Farms on Sun., Nov. 24 and both Saturdays and Sundays for the first three weekends of December prior to Christmas. The rides will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.  The route will be same as in previous years, a loop beginning on Railroad Ave., up Main St. to South St., and then down South St. back to Railroad Ave.

      In addition to the horse and buggy rides, non-profit organizations will be on the Railroad Green selling refreshments such as hot chocolate, warm cider and other snacks

Free Holiday Parking Returns, Two-Hour Limit Still Enforced

      Another tradition in the business district of the Village of Warwick is the free parking at meters during the holiday season. The Warwick Valley Chamber will be decorating the parking meters and supports the free parking program to encourage shopping local for the holidays.

      Residents are reminded that the two-hour limit on parking at the meters will still be enforced. Signs will be placed inside the meters to remind motorists of the two-hour limit.

Santa to Visit Railroad Green

      Old St. Nick will return to the Railroad Green on Sat., Dec. 14, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. The rain date will be Sun., Dec. 15. The Village will once again park the sleigh on the
Railroad for Santa’s visit.

Bank St. Bridge to be Replaced

      The Orange County Legislature has been named Lead Agency under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) in relation to the removal and replacement of the Bank St. Bridge. No timeline was given for the project.

Children’s Book Festival Slated for October 2020

      Following a successful event this past October, the Albert Wisner Public Library has been given permission to hold its next annual Children’s Book Festival on Sat., Oct. 10, 2020.

Next Meeting

      The next meeting of the Village of Warwick Board of Trustees will take place on Mon., Nov. 18, 7:30 p.m., at Village Hall, 77 Main St., Warwick.
