Beautiful People, Orange County’s largest adaptive youth sports league, held its annual Fall Fun Run on Sun., Nov. 10 at Wickham Woodlands Park in Warwick. The event, open to competitive runners as well as walkers of all ages, brought together Beautiful People’s families, supporters and young athletes for a day of community and competition.
Beginning at 9 a.m., Sunday’s event had a chilly start, but the crowd of well over 100 participants braved the cold weather to complete 5K and 1K events that began at Beautiful People’s adaptive baseball field, and looped around the training facility for Hudson Sports Complex, which also served as co-host of the event. Other sponsors included Nourish Your Mind; Judelson, Giordano & Siegel; Move Physio; 5 Star Construction; Ken Bento: Expense Reduction Analysts and the Disability Opportunity Fund.
The top three 5K male finishers were Ryan Mistretta, Alex Mistretta, and RJ Dovico. The top three 5K female finishers were Alice Beutel, Alyssa Dovico, and Stephanie Langone.
Beautiful People completed its 2019 fall soccer season earlier this month, and is currently holding its first season of winter soccer skills training on Monday nights in Warwick. Basketball season begins in January at BOCES in Goshen, and space is available for interested athletes.
